Women's History Month 2025

Emilie_Amt.jpgTo celebrate Women's History Month we are thrilled to welcome story teller and historian Emilie Amt to present her talk entitled  "Letty Ann Warfield & Her Daughters: From Enslavement to Citizenship". Letty was born enslaved near Boonsboro, and her daughters too - although they were little girls when the whole family escaped; later the family returned to Washington County and they were women leaders in a variety of ways and certainly representative of their times and community!

Emilie Amt is an award-winning writer and since 2010, her historical research has focused on African Americans in western Maryland in the era of slavery. She gives frequent talks, leads workshops, and works with local historical, church, and community groups on public history and preservation projects.

Join us for dinner at 6:00 p.m. at Bulls and Bears with the program to follow.

You will be able to select your meal from their menu.
