2016 Story Telling

Join us for the League's annual story telling event which this year will focus on Muslim Women speaking on Faith, Politics and Personal perspectives.  Buy your ticket ahead of time at the $10.00 level, but we will charge you $12.00 at the door!

Speakers will include Maheen Haq, Dr. Noor Siddiqui and others.

Maheen Haq is the founder and president of the International Awareness Club at Smithsburg High School. She is also the president of the Spread the love Club and is a youth leader at her mosque. She is currently a senior and plans on attending a four year university and dedicating her career and life to public service.

Dr. Noor Siddiqui has lived in Hagerstown for more than 22 years, having moved here from Chicago in 1993.  In addition to being a wife, a mother of three children and a Sunday School teacher, Noor Siddiqui organized a mothers' group opposing violent video games in 2001, started a peace camp in the Shephardstown area in 2002 and worked with the Hagerstown Council of Churches to help settle refugees from Russia.  Dr. Siddiqui has visited numerous area schools talking about faith and Islam.
