Book Talk & Conversation

The League of Women Voters of Washington County invites you to a book talk and community conversation on Saturday, January 10 at 2:00 PM, at the Next Chapter Bookshop and Café on West Washington Street in Hagerstown (the former Alsatia Club).  (This event has been postponed until later this spring, watch this space.)

141_W_Washington.jpgJoin us for an afternoon with John F. Leeke, Ph.D. and Ananda Kiamsha Madelyn Leeke as they share stories of family history, education, civic engagement, and decades of work advancing diversity, equality, and inclusion. Dr. Leeke’s reflections span 85 years of lived experience and include deep connections to Hagerstown and Washington County, while Ananda Leeke brings an intergenerational and creative perspective on identity, community, and civic life.
This conversation invites reflection on our own civic journeys and the ways each of us can contribute to a more informed and engaged community.
